I started Carter’s Compost with some help from my dad in April of 2012 as a way to help green my neighborhood by making composting super easy for my neighbors.
I also like to help my mum, dad and brother, Jameson, in our Urban Farm growing vegetables and fruits. We grow lots of things like apple trees, asparagus, peas, tomatoes, peaches, sunflowers and blueberries. We use neighborhood compost to grow neighborhood food. This is called “completing the cycle“. We give back our 100% awesome compost to our members so that they can use it in their garden to grow yummy veggies.
I think composting is a great thing to do to help the Earth because food scraps really don’t belong in the trash. Composting is nature’s way of recycling and probably the most environmentally friendly form of recycling there is.
